The NTSB recovered the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) from the Learjet 35A that crashed while on final approach to Truckee Tahoe Airport, Calif., on the afternoon of December 28, but there was no immediate word as to its condition or the presence of useful information. Pilots Jonathan Martin, 40, and Brett Karpy, 34, were killed in the accident. The twinjet, N781RS, was on an IFR positioning flight from Twin Falls, Idaho, to pick up two passengers at Truckee. Rain, mist, snow and wind at 20 knots with higher gusts were reported during the attempted landing. Visibility was reported as better than five miles. The 1978 aircraft is registered to RSB Investments, doing business as charter/management operator Skyward Aviation, based at Washington County Airport, Pa.
