XC-COL crashed 18 minutes after takeoff from Toluca Airport, killing all six people on board, including the governor of the Mexican state of Colima. According to ATC, the flight was cleared to FL260 after departing Toluca. Soon after reaching their assigned altitude, the flight crew requested a descent to FL200. Radar showed the aircraft descending through FL200 as the crew requested vectors to Morelia. Radar contact with the airplane was lost at about 15,800 feet. The wreckage of the CVR-equipped airplane was located about 40 miles southeast of Morelia.
