Content Body

For its first major new product since being purchased last year by a team headed by Elling Halvorson, Soloy is developing a more powerful follow-on to its 420-shp Allison turboprop conversion for Cessna 206s. Soloy’s new program mates a 450-shp Rolls-Royce 250-B17F/2 to Cessna 206H airframes to produce an aircraft that the company says has better over-the-nose visibility, improved hot-and-high performance, increased payload and a full-reversing beta-controlled Hartzell propeller. Target price for a converted aircraft is under $700,000. Certification is expected late this year.
