Learjet 45 Approved for London City

Bombardier’s Learjet 45 has completed certification to fly into London City Airport– the downtown facility with a 5.5-degree steep approach and a single 4,327-foot runway. The approval, which the European Aviation Safety Agency issued on October 11, covers all Learjet 40s, 45s and 45XRs registered in EASA member states.
An optional service bulletin is now available to existing operators. They also have to apply to the UK Civil Aviation Authority to have their operating manuals amended, having first proved that their crewmembers are qualified to fly into London City.
Test flights for the approval process were conducted in a Learjet 45 operated by UK-based executive charter firm Gold Air International. The operator provides flights for Bombardier’s Flexjet Europe block charter program.
