Sheltair FBO Network expand further

SheltAir’s goal to add Atlanta to its growing FBO network took a major step forward last month when company officials met with the city airport authority. The agenda included negotiating lease terms in SheltAir’s bid to take over the Mercury FBO at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. SheltAir COO Ed Zwirn called the city’s positive review of notification a strong indicator that the deal would eventually come to fruition. For Mercury Air Centers’ part, president John Enticknap told AIN, “It’s not over ’til it’s over,” although he acknowledged that the indications were that SheltAir would prevail in the negotiations. Meanwhile, SheltAir said it will acquire the former Jet Executive Center at Florida’s St. Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport, pending airport approval. A complete renovation of the executive terminal to include a new business center and extensive renovations to the lobby and office complex is planned, said SheltAir. This location will become SheltAir’s seventh FBO, including one at New York La Guardia Airport, where it recently replaced Signature Flight Support.
