Two students were selected to receive NBAA’s 2004 William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship. Shannon Stuart Spangler and Anna Romer will receive $2,500 each to further their education as they pursue careers as aviation maintenance technicians.
Spangler currently attends Rock Valley College in St. Charles, Ill., where he is pursuing an associate’s degree in applied science in aviation maintenance technology in preparation for his FAA A&P certificates. He holds a degree in aviation management from Ohio State University and has successfully completed the FlightSafety International dispatcher course. Romer is entering the A&P program at Minneapolis Community and Technical College with the goal of becoming an aircraft mechanic.
