Palwaukee pride published in a brochure

Corporate pilot (and AIN contributing writer) Rob Mark heads up the Palwaukee (Ill.) Airport Community Engagement Council, or PACE. To mark the airport’s recognition as the 2004 Illinois reliever airport of the year, PACE has published a simple brochure that highlights the airport’s contributions to the local economy and its effect on the community’s social structure. The brochure provides a brief description of the airport and the Illinois towns that share its jurisdiction (Prospect Heights and Wheeling). Also included are specific numbers on the direct and indirect financial effect the airport has on the local economy, with its 305 employees and $6 million of revenue spent at FBOs
on the field. Of perhaps more immediate interest to homeowners is the section that discusses real estate surrounding the airport and how property values have increased over the recent decades.

Finally, the brochure outlines property tax revenue paid by the airport and lists a wide range of civic and humanitarian contributions that are unique to Palwaukee Airport.
