The growing Encore FBO chain on May 18 added a seventh FBO, the former Frederick Aviation at Frederick Airport in Maryland. This is Encore’s fourth U.S. FBO and second purchase of an FBO with a business jet charter operation and maintenance/avionics facilities. Plans call for Encore to build another hangar, according to executive vice president Don Prescott, but that depends on negotiations with the airport management and the city of Frederick, which owns the airport. Encore expects to buy another FBO in Europe this year and four to five more in the U.S., according to Prescott.
