Honeywell Aerospace has selected Belgian avionics display specialist Barco to supply LCD multifunction cockpit displays as upgrades for CRT-based display units used with legacy Sperry/Honeywell Primus 1000, 2000, 2000XP, SPZ-8400, 8500 and 8000 avionics systems.

The contract with a multimillion-dollar potential targets a market of up to 5,000 aircraft. Barco’s open architecture creates a flexible host platform for Honeywell’s latest applications, including electronic charts, maps, ground proximity warning and weather. First prototypes of the new retrofit displays are being shown at Booth No. 2320. Barco, headquartered in Brussels, has operations in more than 90 countries with approximately 3,800 employees worldwide.
