Content Body

After AIN’s report last month about four Raytheon Aircraft Premier I landing overruns in the last couple of years, another operator disclosed a fifth such incident. He said his aircraft went off the end of a dry runway after landing at Cannes, France, on February 20. The aircraft had incorporated the fix that Raytheon developed last year, but he told AIN that the lift-dump spoilers failed to deploy. Failure of the lift-dump spoilers to deploy was a factor in at least two of the other overrun accidents and led to an AD. There have been no reportable injuries in any of the five incidents, and in the one event that occurred in the U.S. the extent of damage did not qualify it for investigation by the NTSB.
