Take A Seat, but Not Just Any Seat

Lantal Textiles of Langenthal, Switzerland, and Recaro Aircraft Seating of Schwaebisch Hall, Germany, have combined their respective expertise to create what Lantal describes as “an adaptable pneumatic seat cushion, passively or actively enhancing passenger comfort.” The new technology is based on the integration of the different properties of foam, support tissue and massage cushion in “one single intelligent material.” The result is a lighter pneumatic cushion with ergonomic comfort. According to Lantal, the new cushion will be ready to market by year-end as a new or retrofit item.
