Gulfstream Orders $900K of IS&S RVSM Avionics

Gulfstream has ordered $900,000 worth of avionics from Exton, Pa.-based Innovative Solutions & Support, a maker of low-cost RVSM avionics for the retrofit market. Gulfstream service centers will install the equipment in Gulfstream IIs and IIBs later this year. IS&S already offers or plans to offer RVSM-compliant air-data avionics for a variety of business airplanes, including Learjets, Hawkers, Challengers, JetStars, Sabreliners, Citations, King Airs and the Piaggio Avanti. IS&S equipment, the company claims, sells for far less than avionics offered by competitors Honeywell and Rockwell Collins.
