Content Body

Two non-fatal accidents involving runway overruns of the Raytheon Premier I in which the lift-dump spoilers failed to deploy have led to an AD. The directive (AD 2003-07-09) requires Premier I operators to temporarily replace existing landing-distance charts with those that reflect the increased landing distance without the lift-dump spoilers deployed. The two overruns referred to in the AD occurred January 7 at Herrera International Airport in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Aug. 18, 2002, at Norwood Airport, Mass. Raytheon Aircraft expects to have an interim fix available by May 31 and a permanent fix by year-end.
