Content Body

Duncan Aviation has been awarded a “multiple aircraft type” STC for Honeywell’s runway awareness and advisory system (RAAS), allowing the company to install it on aircraft equipped with Honeywell’s Mark V or Mark VII EGPWS systems. This STC includes the option for an “inhibit” annunciator switch that allows flight crews to mute RAAS warnings for 30, 60 or 90 seconds. When the crew-specified time delay expires, RAAS automatically resumes issuing audible warnings. Duncan Aviation was the first to perform an RAAS installation and was awarded STC certification on a Gulfstream IV. Under the “multiple” certification, Duncan can add aircraft types to the STC easily by inserting the new aircraft type into the aircraft model list. The STC documents are FAA-approved by Duncan Aviation by a Memorandum of Agreement that greatly reduces the time required for additional certification approvals.
