Piaggio Avanti, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., March 20, 2007–The left landing gear of the Avantair Avanti collapsed on landing at Hollywood International Airport. The left tire blew out and separated from its rim. No one was injured but the airplane was substantially damaged. There were thunderstorm cells in the area, and after their clearance was changed from Runway 9L to 9R the crew was still lined up for 9L until the tower corrected them. They made a go-around to line up for 9R.

Piaggio Avanti, Teterboro, N.J., June 17, 2007–Avantair Flight 152 and Cirrus SR22 N6026K nearly collided at the intersection of Runways 19 and 24 at Teterboro Airport. The Avanti was cleared for takeoff on Runway 24, and a few seconds later the Cirrus was cleared for takeoff on Runway 18. Less than a minute later, the Cirrus pilot transmitted, “Two six kilo we have an open door we’re just gonna stop here for one second if that’s possible.” The tower did not respond.
