Two Raytheon-hired contract pilots and a potential buyer were killed when their Beech 1900C on a sales demo flight crashed December 9 in mountainous terrain near Eagleton, Ark. At press time, investigators had no clue as to what caused the crash of the 1990 twin turboprop, N127YV, registered to Raytheon Aircraft Credit. The flight had taken off from Wichita at 10:30 a.m., about an hour before the accident. Mena, Ark., about 15 mi south of Eagleton, was the intended destination. The crewmembers were reported to be Jack McFarlane, 63, and James Henning, 41. The passenger was reported to be Ron Tweto, 40, president of Hageland Aviation Services of Anchorage, Alaska. Weather at Fort Smith, about 35 mi north of Eagleton, was reported as visibility nine miles, overcast at 600 ft and temperature/dewpoint 7 deg/2 deg. The aircraft’s CVR was recovered.
