Paperless Cockpit Unveils Low-cost EFB

Paperless Cockpit, a Germantown, Conn. supplier of handheld electronic flight bag (EFB) computing devices, has introduced a new low-end product, notable for its large 10.4-inch touchscreen display and list price of $2,999. A low-voltage Mobile Intel Pentium III processor running at 800 MHz powers the GA-EFB 4000, the third member of Paperless Cockpit’s family of EFB computers. With the choice of a 20- or 40-GB hard drive, pilots can electronically store all charts, manuals and aviation information in the 3.2-pound device with room to spare, the company said. Included in the basic price is an internal 56k V.90 modem, Ethernet card, external CD-ROM drive and wireless keyboard.
