In The Works: Embraer Phenom 100

Embraer’s entry into the very light jet market–the Phenom 100– is progressing toward certification and entry into service by the middle of this year. The third Phenom 100 made its first flight on December 21 at the company’s Gavião Peixoto facility near São Paulo, Brazil. The Phenom 100 flight test fleet has logged more than 250 hours in more than 260 flights, according to Embraer. Tests completed thus far include performance, flying qualities, flutter, water ingestion and artificial ice shapes.

S/N 4 is the first Phenom 100 to be assembled at the recently built hangar at Gavião Peixoto and will be used for interior function and reliability tests, including outfitting with the BMW DesignworksUSA-designed interior. The next airplane, S/N 4, is in final assembly and will fly in the Phenom 100 maturity campaign.
