Maguire buying third VNY FBO

Maguire Aviation, which bought the former Petersen Aviation FBO at Van Nuys Airport in Southern California in 2006 and more recently the airport’s Million Air FBO, is planning to buy Skytrails Aviation, an FBO on the southeast corner of the airport. After the deal closes, Maguire’s total spending on leasehold acquisitions and infrastructure improvements at Van Nuys should reach more than $250 million during the next three years. Skytrails is a family-owned FBO opened by Mark and Kathy Sullivan in 1985 and includes 52,000 sq ft of hangar and office space as well as a self-fueling avgas station. The two companies will operate separately until the deal is finalized.
