Navigance, a consortium of several security equipment manufacturers and service providers, has added features to its Safe system. Now available are a written security manual from Aircraftsman; an online real-time weather product from Weather Decision Technologies that can forecast hail and lightning; and a large-screen interactive electronic “white board” from Cleveland Corporate Services. These features join biometric fingerprint identification, wireless communications, digital video surveillance and high-speed broadband Internet connections to complete a versatile security/weather observation system for airports and corporate flight facilities.
Navigance recently installed a Safe system at a large corporate flight department at Teterboro (N.J.) Airport and another at Million Air Cleveland. The first such system was installed at Million Air Salt Lake City (Utah). Denver Centennial Airport (APA) has been selected as the beta test site for the first airport-wide SafePort installation.
