Naples, Fla. reinstates Stage 2 ban

The authority for Naples Airport in Florida implemented a ban on Stage 2 aircraft starting last month, although operators may be able to obtain temporary waivers from the restriction for up to six months. Implementation of the ban was cleared last year when the U.S. District Court dismissed a lawsuit brought by NBAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Meanwhile, the ban remains the subject of administrative review by the FAA. The agency is investigating whether the ban violates federal law and assurances in the Naples Airport Authority’s federal-grant agreements.
