Operators have until August 13 to comment on the FAA’s proposed long-term
solutions to the serious congestion and delay problems at New York La Guardia
Airport (LGA). Under one plan six general aviation slots would be set aside each hour for a total of 96 over LGA’s 16-hr peak period of 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Currently, general aviation has 108 slots available from 6 a.m. to midnight. Under another plan, congestion pricing from $350 to $700 for each operation of airliners and general aviation aircraft would be assessed during peak periods (AIN, July, page 68).
