Content Body

Honeywell’s corporate flight department recently applied for FAA authorization to perform Required Navigation Performance Special Aircraft and Aircrew Authorization Required (RNP SAAAR) operations on the company’s PlaneView-equipped Gulfstream G450 and G550. According to Honeywell business and general aviation president Rob Wilson, RNP SAAAR will allow their aircraft to fly more precise approaches and departures, increasing operational efficiency and reducing operating costs, noise and emissions. In late 2007 Honeywell received RNP SAAAR consultancy designation from the FAA, enabling the company to offer business jet operators services to speed authorization from the FAA to perform RNP SAAAR procedures. Honeywell is also offering customers a new database validation service to help them comply with RNP SAAAR data integrity requirements.
