FBO AvCenter at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) recently moved into a new $14 million business aviation center that is more than twice as large as its previous facility on the field. The new complex features a 20,000-sq-ft hangar, an 11,000-sq-ft operations building, fuel farm, de-icing pad and a large ramp area. Aircraft up to the size of a GV can be hangared, and the ramp can accommodate anything up to a Boeing 747.
Amenities include an executive lounge, two conference rooms, pilot lounge, flight-planning room, game room (complete with regulation-size pool table), exercise room, snooze rooms and showers. Additionally, the facility has a business center complete with computers with Internet access, printers, copiers and telephones. Besides fueling and Type 1 and 4 de-icing services, FBO AvCenter offers on-site car rentals, courtesy shuttles, customs clearances and aircraft cleaning. An on-site café and in-flight catering service are planned to come online before the end of the month.
