A Challenger 601 equipped with the Pro Line 21 Continuum avionics system from Rockwell Collins has completed initial flight tests, said the company. Certification of the package is expected in the next few months and will bring to eight the total number of Continuum development programs for business jets. The Challenger 601 installation features four 8- by 10-in. displays, FMS-6000, AHS-3000 attitude heading reference system, TCAS-4000, TWR-850 turbulence-detection weather radar and Pro Line radios. Capabilities of the system include data communications, uplinked graphical weather and 3-D FMS flight-plan maps. At the NBAA Convention last month Collins displayed the system with electronic approach charts supplied by Jeppesen.
