3M Aerospace helps you clean up your act

3M Aerospace has new aircraft cleaning and maintenance products at the convention (Booth No. 3635). The Scotch-Brite Aircraft Cleaning Pad is nonabrasive and comes in three sizes, designed to clean aircraft exteriors. The two aircraft sealant removal products are the SR Cutter and the SR Radial Bristle Disc. The Cutter is a plastic rotary cutting tool that removes thick layers of sealants without damaging the aircraft paint, anodized layer or aluminum of the aircraft. It is available in .40- or .83-in. diameters. The Bristle Disc uses plastic abrasives to remove thin layers of sealants.

“3M’s SR Cutter and SR Radial Bristle Disc completely eliminate the need to use harsh chemicals to remove seam sealants,” said Daniel Machacek, national sales and marketing manager at 3M Aerospace. “Additionally, these new products do away with the laborious and inconsistent practice of scraping by hand to remove sealants.”
