Seattle, Wash.-based Pentar Avionics introduced its new Jet LAN AS200 Advanced Airborne Computer at an NBAA press conference yesterday. Certification is expected by October, Pentar president Robert Rodgers told NBAA Convention News, with first deliveries starting October 15. The next-generation file server uses high-performance off-the-shelf PC architecture and computing capability with advanced custom avionics interface technology. Pentar said that the new computer is “an excellent network server for office-in-the-sky applications.”
Pentar, which Rodgers said specializes in daily communication products, is giving live demonstrations at its booth (No. 3077).
The early-model JetLAN I is still supported, Rodgers said, but not promoted, with the company focusing on the new more powerful model and the JetLAN XP, designed for smaller bizplanes.
