ExecuJet Europe is expanding its presence at Berlin Schönefeld Airport in Berlin, following an April 27 public referendum that will lead to the closure of the city’s famed Tempelhof Airport in October. ExecuJet launched an upgrade of its Schönefeld FBO in April, building a new passenger lounge, conference room, pilot lounge and briefing and operations room.
During construction, ExecuJet personnel are working from temporary facilities on the north side of the airport, and they will occupy the renovated two-story FBO shortly. Schönefeld will eventually become Berlin Brandenburg International Airport, and ExecuJet’s FBO, aircraft charter/management and maintenance operations “will be pivotal to the 55-strong aircraft we support in Europe,” said Peter Hartmann, managing director for ExecuJet Europe. ExecuJet Europe plans to add 20 aircraft to its managed fleet by the end of the year, he added.
