Rockwell Collins Aviation Services and FlightSafety have developed a training program for Cessna CJ1 pilots designed to prepare students for the FSI type-rating program. Prerequisite Interactive Courseware (PICware), consisting of two interactive CD-ROM programs, will be offered through FlightSafety as part of its CJ1 pilot training program. The computer-based course covers basic avionics concepts and equipment information with knowledge evaluations administered at set intervals. Described as a self-discovery tool, the course is segmented into four modules including operation, theory, description and procedures. Collins and FSI said the CD-ROM could also be used for post-classroom refresher training.
