FAA Increases Scrutiny of Weco Aerospace

The FAA has issued an unapproved parts notification for Weco Aerospace Systems of Burbank, Calif. The document cites hundreds of “aircraft components and instruments approved for return to service by Weco, Inc.” The company, acquired by Gulfstream Aerospace a year ago, was an FAA Part 145 and EASA repair station. The agency cautions aircraft owners, operators, maintenance organizations and parts distributors to inspect any parts approved for return to service by Weco and recommends that the parts be segregated “until their eligibility for installation is determined.”
