Aviation Technology Group selected Avidyne to supply its FlightMax Entegra integrated avionics system for the company’s Javelin, a tandem two-place very light business jet under development. In the Javelin, the Avidyne system will include two 10.4-inch screens in each of the fore and aft cockpits to display primary navigation, moving maps and datalink information. In addition, Entegra includes VHF communications equipment, mode-S transponders, GPS receivers and a flight-control system allowing for flight into RVSM airspace. ATG said it has “letters of intent” for 151 Javelins. As soon as the first distributorship contract is signed, the Javelin’s price will increase from $2.2 million to $2.5 million, marking the end of direct sales within that region. First flight is planned by the end of this year. FAA certification is expected in 2006 and first customer deliveries in 2007.
