Buyers looking for 100 to 200 hours of lift per year might be interested in a program called OwnershipPlus from Contrail Aviation of Baltimore. Contrail is guaranteeing a specific number of charter hours on a whole aircraft bought from the company and put into the program. “In most cases, the program is cash-flow positive for the owner,” according to Contrail. For example, under OwnershipPlus, Contrail said 100-percent ownership of a GIV-SP would net an owner about $652,000, compared with an annual cost of about $585,000 for a one-eighth share in a NetJets GIV-SP.
