Content Body

Jet Works Air Center in Denton, Texas, is hoping many of those operating the more than 200 Bombardier Learjet 31s flying today will stop by the company’s booth (No. 5186) to talk about the proposed replacement of 1960s vintage gimbaled directional and vertical gyros with the Rockwell Collins AHS-3000S solid-state attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS).

Jet Works is pursuing a supplemental type certificate (STC) for the Learjet 31 that will remove the original-equipment Litton Litef gyros in favor of the AHS-3000S unit. The STC, for which the company expects approval sometime this winter, includes a digital interface adapter to link the Collins attitude and heading system and the OEM analog King KFC-400A autopilot.
