Aerospace Welding gets EASA OK

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has approved the Part 145 certification for Aerospace Welding Minneapolis. The certificate has been issued under the terms of the current Bilateral Aviation Safety Agreement and the associated Maintenance Implementation Procedures. The new certification allows the company to export all overhauled and repaired parts to customers in any EASA member country.

Tom Heid, president of AWI, said the company also added an FAA designee with DMIR (designated manufacturing inspection representative) status. This allows for the issuance of export certificates of airworthiness on all of the Aero-Power brand parts for which AWI holds an FAA-PMA.

Aerospace Welding Minneapolis is an FAA-certified repair station for weld repairs and the world’s largest facility for aircraft exhaust overhauls as well as engine mount repairs. The company maintains a large inventory of PMA new parts as well as overhauled components.
