EMS Technologies To Acquire Avionics Manufacturer Formation

EMS Technologies has signed a “definitive agreement” to acquire Moorestown, N.J.-based Formation, a provider of airborne wireless network products that enable
in-flight passenger communication with terrestrial and satellite networks.

The $40 million deal is one in a series of “strategic acquisitions” designed to strengthen EMS’s position among mobile broadband and asset tracking solutions. According to EMS, the newly acquired Formation has an earning potential of $15 million, based on anticipated performance in near-term succeeding years.
