Bombardier CL600-2B19 CRJ, Philadelphia, Dec. 14, 2008–The Air Wisconsin CRJ landed at Philadelphia International Airport with the left main landing gear retracted. En route, the crew had noted problems with the left gear and could not get it to lower. They landed with the nosegear and the right gear down and locked. Maintenance had been performed on the landing-gear systems before the flight. After the accident it was found that the upper attachment bolt for the left gear uplock assembly, designed to be attached to both the uplock mechanism and the structure, was attached only to the airplane structure.
Bombardier CL600-2C10 CRJ, Chicago, Dec. 15, 2008–The Mesa Airlines CRJ was approaching South Bend Regional Airport when the landing-gear gear disagree warning light came on. Going through the emergency checklist did not resolve the problem, so the crew returned to Chicago O’Hare, where they landed on the nosegear and right gear. There were no injuries.
Bombardier CL600-2B16 CRJ, Gary, Ind., Dec. 14, 2008–On landing at Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY), the nose of the Boeing-operated CRJ was substantially damaged when the nosewheel hit the runway hard and the airplane bounced. There were no injuries. The crew made a go-around and returned to Chicago Midway International Airport.
