Content Body

A Cessna Aircraft A&P mechanic has been charged with one count of selling stolen aircraft parts. The federal complaint alleges that Diego Alejandro Paz Teran of Wichita stole parts from Cessna to sell on eBay from August 2008 through January 30 of this year.

The investigation began last November when the employee of a Rockwell Collins distributor saw a Collins AHC-3000 attitude reference computer listed for $9,000 on the popular Internet bidding site. Cessna was able to trace the serial numbers to a stolen part from an XLS Plus that was being painted. Investigators found other stolen aircraft parts being sold on the same eBay account, which was traced to Teran. If found guilty he faces a federal sentence of as much as 10 years and
a $250,000 fine.
