The circular parking ring system developed by Alto General Aviation Services of Eltville, Germany, has received patent rights from the German patent and trademark office. Alto introduced the rotating circular parking ring system in 2006 with an installation in a hangar at Frankfurt’s Egelsbach Airport. This ring had space for up to four light jets such as Hawker Beechcraft’s Premier. Alto is developing two more parking rings at Grenchen Airport in Switzerland, and other ring projects are pending. Smaller parking rings are installed in more than 150 hangars in Germany, according to the company.
