Content Body

Avidyne used last month’s Sun ’n’ Fun show in Lakeland, Fla., to announce FAA certification of the Entegra
Release 9 avionics system. Avidyne said TSO approval for the Entegra Release 9 suite opens the door for retrofits of the cockpit into existing Cirrus SR20s and SR22s. The certification covers Release 9’s dual XGA-resolution IFD5000 displays, dual-redundant FMS 900w flight management system, VHF navcom radios and dual WAAS-capable GPS receivers. Entegra Release 9 links to the existing S-Tec 55X autopilot. The certification was the culmination of more than six years of “intense product development, in-depth human-factors evaluations and rigorous flight testing,” the company noted.
