Freedom Aero Service receives FAA Part 145 designation

Lincoln, Calif.-based Freedom Aero Service has been awarded FAR Part 145 status. The company is also EASA certified. Freedom Aero Service specializes in the repair and overhaul of aircraft components, including electrical and electronic accessories, and instruments for business jets and helicopters.

Scott Durham, president and operations manager, told AIN he and his employees all worked for another shop that was purchased by a large corporation and immediately pared down the ranks.

“Those who weren’t cut left the company voluntarily and joined the rest of us to start Freedom Aero Service because we were friends and we all loved the work,” he said. “There are seven of us, six of whom are technicians, and we have 150 years of collective experience.”
