Construcciones Aeronauticas SA (CASA) C-212-CC, Kotzebue, Alaska, Feb. 14, 2009– The Arctic Transportation Services cargo aircraft crashed half a mile from Kotzebue Airport and was substantially damaged. The ATP-rated pilot and copilot were not injured. Landing with a special VFR clearance with one-quarter-mile visibility on approach, the pilot lost sight of the snow-covered airport and initiated a go-around but hit the ground short of the runway.
