First Civil AW139s Find Homes in Japan

AgustaWestland (Booth No. 7020) recently delivered the first of a pair of AW139s to its official Japanese distributor, Mitsui Bussan Aerospace, marking the first civilian use of the type in the Asian country. Another of the medium twin-engine helicopter is to be delivered by mid-year to All Nippon Helicopter (ANH), where it will be operated for NHK, Japan’s national broadcasting corporation, as the first AW139 outfitted for electronic newsgathering. To date, AgustaWestland has had worldwide sales of more than 430 AW139s, with applications ranging from offshore transport to emergency medical services, search and rescue, and law enforcement.
