NBAA commended the House of Representatives for passing the FAA Reauthorization Act of 2009 on May 21. According to the association, the multi-year reauthorization bill will fund the FAA and NextGen development through current sources, though it includes an increase in general aviation fuel taxes. “We commend the House of Representatives for passing this legislation to fund the FAA and accelerate NextGen using the long-established aviation fuel tax to help pay for system modernization,” said NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen. The Senate has yet to release a draft of its companion bill.
