BBA Aviation’s engine repair and overhaul company, Dallas Airmotive, has expanded PW305 capability at its Dallas Love Field (DAL) facility. New tooling allows the company to replace IBRs (integrally bladed rotors) on the PW305A, the engine that powers the Learjet 60. The first two engines to receive this treatment were completed in April. IBR replacement on the PW305A eliminates the requirement for inspection every 300 hours. “We knew that Pratt & Whitney Canada would introduce a new IBR for the 305A this year, so we prepared for this event last year by expanding the facility and purchasing the necessary tooling and equipment,” said Mike Cumnock, the company’s vice president for customer service and global regional turbine center operations.
