The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) extended the compliance date for certain rules relating to fuel spill prevention, control and countermeasures (SPCC), to November 10 next year. According to the National Air Transportation Association (NATA), rule changes that took effect in 2002 and 2006 will affect facilities that store fuel, such as FBOs, but the requirements depend on when the facility began operation. The EPA is also planning to review its 2008 rule changes and might issue amendments to them later this year, according to NATA. “NATA recommends that facility operators review their SPCC plans as soon as possible to be sure they are fully compliant,” said the association.
