Front range airport welcomes Denver traffic

Traffic at Front Range Airport in Watkins, Colo., has grown rapidly, according to airport executive director of aviation Dennis Heap, due to seasonal closings of airports in the metropolitan Denver area and because Front Range offers “a low-cost and low-congestion alternative to the region’s primary commercial airport in Denver.” Front Range Airport has two 8,000-foot runways, heated hangars, aircraft maintenance and an FBO with catering, on-site rental cars, shower facilities, meeting rooms and a café.
