Hot Section: SIkorsky expands texas blade repair & overhaul shop

Sikorsky Aerospace Services, the aftermarket business of Sikorsky Aircraft, has dedicated its Composite Technology unit’s new helicopter blade repair and overhaul center at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport in Texas.
The new, 152,000-sq-ft building is nearly three times the size of the company’s
former facility.

The expanded facility allows the company to add a 6,000-shp dynamic test stand capable of supporting a wide range of helicopter models and two downdraft paint booths. The company’s employment has more than doubled in the past year to 135 technicians and support staff.
