Poland-based PZL-Swidnik late in October delivered its 1,000th helicopter fuselage–an
AW109 light utility helicopter–to AgustaWestland. PZL-Swidnik delivered the first AW109 Power airframe in 1996 and handed over the 500th airframe in June 2006. The Polish company currently produces airframes for the AW119Ke, AW109 Power, AW109 LUH, Grand and AW139 helicopters. It is a program risk-sharing partner on the AW139. AgustaWestland is expected to own 94 percent
of PZL-Swidnik by year-end.
