Lufthansa Technik Makes ‘Nice’ with Bombardier

German completion and MRO provider Lufthansa Technik has been selected to supply its networked integrated cabin equipment (Nice) system for Bombardier’s new, all-composite Learjet 85.

The Nice package is an Ethernet-based platform that will be customized for the Learjet 85 to feature a digital amplifier feeding high-fidelity speakers and an interface to support the cabin environment system. The open architecture will facilitate integration of third-party equipment and new applications, such as high-definition video. A new user interface and high-definition distribution system for each seat will accommodate Blu-ray players, smart-phone integration and systems.
