Single pilot approved for North American Jet

The FAA has approved North American Jet of Charleston, S.C., to fly its Eclipse 500 very light jets in single-pilot configuration. The approval came after upgrading
of North American’s Eclipse 500s with flight-into-known-icing modifications by Eclipse Aerospace, which is providing product support for the more than 250 Eclipse 500s that were built by bankrupt Eclipse Aviation. Eclipse Aerospace bought Eclipse Aviation’s assets last year. North American plans to add more Eclipse 500s to its fleet as upgraded versions become available from Eclipse Aerospace.
